Résumé

Volodymyr Reznichenko

Product Manager — Experimentation at Scale

Westfield, NJ (NYC metro) · volod@volod.me · LinkedIn

I build systems in places that don't have them yet.

Today that means running experimentation across 30+ Hearst media brands: paywalls, ads, affiliate commerce, checkout, video. Before that: two profitable businesses co-founded from zero in Ukraine, category management for the country's largest electronics chains, and a restart in the US in 2019 with no capital — promoted to Operations Manager at FedEx within eight months.

I use AI tools daily to ship faster. I think in first principles. I document everything so it works after I leave.

Experience

Hearst Magazines — Product Manager

Apr 2022 – Present
New York, NY
  • Lead the experimentation program across 30+ digital media brands, touching all three revenue pillars: advertising, affiliate commerce, and subscriptions.
  • Helped implement Optimizely across the entire digital portfolio; the team became the company's Center of Excellence for experimentation — training PMs on hypothesis writing, metric selection, and test quality, and running QA across teams.
  • Built the shared metrics library: standardized event definitions that let teams compare results across brands instead of measuring the same things differently.
  • Structured years of experiment history into a searchable catalog; trained AI tooling to generate first drafts from inputs, compressing idea-to-ticket time.
  • Hearst Award, 2025 — annual recognition for outstanding individual contribution, one recipient per department.

Because Health — Senior Product Marketing Manager

Mar 2021 – Apr 2022
Boston, MA (remote)
  • Early employee at a membership-based longevity and preventive health practice licensed across all 50 states.
  • Built content strategy, keyword research, and audience segmentation from zero budget; wrote technical specifications for the website and managed three development vendors through the build.
  • Represented the company at a national longevity conference, building relationships across the practitioner ecosystem.

FedEx — Package Handler → Operations Manager

Jan 2020 – Mar 2021
Portland, OR / North Salt Lake, UT
  • Arrived in the US with no capital, no car, no license. Promoted from package handler to Operations Manager in eight months.
  • Led teams of 5–15 through 8–12 hour shifts: package walls, load quality, productivity tracking, safety, personnel assessment — with full crew turnover every year.

Elektrokarniz — Co-founder, Director of Product Management

Dec 2018 – Dec 2019
Kyiv, Ukraine
  • Co-founded a motorized curtain track and smart window treatment company; profitable in month two, ~$200K revenue in year one, 260% ROI on marketing spend.
  • Implemented CRM from scratch, producing a stable flow of 70 leads/month; built a team of seven.
  • Occupied multiple top-three Google positions simultaneously by running three websites; drained competitors' ad budgets by overbidding during low-intent morning hours, then capturing high-intent afternoon traffic cheaply.
  • Secured exclusive Ukrainian representation for a Turkish textile producer; collected 170 B2B leads at the Design Living Tendency 2019 international exhibition.
  • Sold my stake, documented everything, and trained my successor when my family won the US Green Card lottery. The playbook stayed in use after I left.

Radioline — Lead Category Manager, Audio

May 2018 – Dec 2018
Kyiv, Ukraine · Wholesale distributor of mobile phones and audio accessories to small retailers across Ukraine
  • Managed China-based supplier relationships at container scale: long procurement cycles, frozen-capital planning, and in-house lab certification of imports against Ukrainian technical standards as the official importer.
  • Built analytics infrastructure with the internal team; ran field visits to clients' retail floors to assess shelf placement and packaging competitiveness firsthand.

Foxtrot — Senior E-commerce Category Manager (second stint)

May 2017 – May 2018
Kyiv, Ukraine · Ukraine's largest consumer electronics retailer, ~$500M revenue, ~150 stores
  • Grew the home entertainment category 45% year over year against a 10% company average; margin up 3 percentage points.
  • Wrote the spec for a dynamic pricing engine monitoring competitor prices with hourly automatic updates — replacing manual Excel-and-upload work and freeing dozens of hours weekly. Engineering built it from my requirements.
  • Identified and stocked KIVI — a Ukrainian smart TV startup — before the market did; secured online exclusivity on their best models and watched them become the category leader. The brick-and-mortar division followed.
  • Doubled the category's website conversion rate; launched Ukraine's exclusive Star Wars Toshiba TV line; grew OEM brand market share to 30% nationally.

Royal Bag — Senior Product Manager → Director of Product Management

Oct 2015 – May 2017
Kyiv, Ukraine
  • Tripled monthly sales from $20K to $70K via B2B marketplace partnerships (Rozetka — 41M visitors/mo, Kasta — 5M/mo) and performance marketing at 350% ROI.
  • Grew organic traffic to 10K users/month; paid to 20K/month across Google Ads, Yandex Direct, and affiliates.
  • Launched Blamont, an own-manufacturing premium leather bag brand; hired a team of four for it.
  • Invented reverse logistics for an "order 3, pick 1" service that doubled orders.
  • Isolated channel ROI by splitting organic and paid traffic across two separate domains — attribution by architecture, not analytics.

Foxtrot — Category Manager → Senior E-commerce Category Manager (first stint)

Oct 2013 – Oct 2015
Kyiv, Ukraine
  • Grew the TV/photo/video category 64% over two years; margin up 5 percentage points.
  • Wrote requirements for an automated supplier selection engine: scanned every uploaded supplier price list, found the cheapest source per product, and routed fulfillment automatically. My first commercial-problem-to-technical-spec translation that shipped.
  • Introduced centralized distribution tracking where stores had previously been replenished on manager gut feel.

Eldorado — Procurement Specialist

May 2012 – Oct 2013
Kyiv, Ukraine · Ukraine's #3 consumer electronics retailer, ~$200M revenue
  • Won the buyer seat in a 15-candidate competitive panel; owned procurement, pricing, and distribution across 70+ stores, planning sales 180 days out to time Samsung container shipments from South Korea.
  • Cut average inventory turnover from 74 to 51 days; raised distribution coverage from 70% to 85%.
  • Handled end-to-end contracting with Sony, Samsung, and LG Electronics — coordinating legal, logistics, marketing, and finance to close.

Motor Sich — CNC Programmer

May 2010 – Mar 2012
Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine · Aircraft engine manufacturer
  • Implemented and documented 100+ programs for metalworking CNC machines; extended tool lifetime 5x.
